  4. Avoid PowerPoint: Amazon discourages the use of PowerPoint presentations in meetings, preferring instead to use written narratives to communicate ideas.
  5. Use data to make decisions: Meetings at Amazon are data-driven, with a focus on using data to make informed decisions.
  6. End with clear action items: Each meeting should end with clear action items and the next steps, with specific individuals assigned to each task.

However, it doesn’t always fit your organization's needs. So in general, there is a list of key points an effective meeting required.

  1. Define the purpose and objectives: Clearly state the goals and desired outcomes of the meeting. This will help you and the participants stay focused and ensure that the meeting is necessary and productive.
  2. Invite the right participants: Determine who needs to be present for the meeting to be successful. Select individuals who can contribute meaningfully, make decisions, or are directly impacted by the meeting’s outcomes.
  3. Create and distribute the agenda: Develop a detailed agenda that includes the meeting’s objectives, topics to be discussed, allotted time for each topic, and any relevant documents or materials. Distribute the agenda in advance to give participants enough time to review and prepare.
  4. Choose a suitable time and location: Schedule the meeting at a time when participants are likely to be available and attentive. Choose a comfortable, well-equipped location that is conducive to focused discussions.
